Medway Together Programme are set to launch a new programme to recruit young carers to help and engage with adult carers, guiding them to make better use of digital tools, as well as improve on their own digital capability.
A Digital Champion is someone who helps others to understand the benefits of being online and similar technologies and can spend some time showing them how.
Due for launch at the time of writing, and backed by
Medway Together Project, the
Digital Champions Programme from Carers First is looking to recruit a group of young carers to train for this digital role within the Care sector, to then offer their valuable insight and guidance
to help others within the sector to enhance their use of digital tools.
In an age of digitalisation for nearly every aspect of daily life some if not most adult carers are even more isolated and are either dependent on external help or just excluded from participation in community.
Through the support of newly trained Champions, supporting carers to be more confident using new technologies or connecting online – whether to email or contact family, do their own shopping, or complete forms online - part of the programme assists these vulnerable adults, empowering them to solve their needs by themselves and have a sense of achievement.
