Funding Round-up – Disability and Health (Part 1), June 2022

Here is a collection of funding rounds from local and national organisations focusing on disability and health themes for the Voluntary Sector.

Due to the varying nature and progress of public policies and other related activity, MVA do advise that some of the information below may have changed since the time of its issue, and whilst every effort has been made to provide up-to-date details, they ask that readers please check with each organisation’s website for the latest news.

Funding Programme from Adamson Trust
The Adamson Trust offers grants for VCS organisations and charities to help with the cost of holidays or respite breaks for disabled children (aged 3 to 17 years) with physical, mental, or emotional impairments.
For this season, the deadline for applications is 30th June 2022 with further dates to be announced later this year.

Baily Thomas Charitable Fund
The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund awards grants to charities and organisations who aim to aid the research into learning disability and to aid the care and relief of those (children and adults) affected by severe learning disabilities, including autism.
The Fund operates two general grant funding streams, a General Grant Programme for appeals over £10,000 and a Small Grant Programme for appeals below £10,000.
Capital and revenue costs for specific projects and for general running, or core costs are all considered.
The Funders say although this is a Continuous Rolling Programme and applications can be accepted at any time, they do advise meetings are held three times a year to review applications, with deadlines for these being 1st March, 1st August and 1st December each year.

Grants from Gardening with Disabilities Trust
The Gardening with Disabilities Trust offers grants to people in the UK to enable them continue gardening despite age, illness, or disability.
The Trust help with adaptations, the cost of tools and raised beds as well as advice and information on different aids and techniques.
With meetings held every month to review funding requests, The trust advise the scheme is a Continuous Rolling Programme so applications can be accepted at any time.

EXCLUSIVE! – Launch of VCSE Health and Wellbeing Fund from UK Government
The Government recently announced funding to support voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations who can provide a holistic support offer to assist women experiencing reproductive health issues.
The fund is being organised and managed by Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), NHS England, and NHS Improvement. They say they value the significant contribution that the VCSE organisations makes towards improving health and care and see the sector as a well-placed partner in community for the delivery of key support services, as well as improving health and wellbeing across England.
To support this, the organisers are jointly releasing the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Fund 2022 to 2025 to support projects and programmes led by VCSE organisations.
The closing date for applications is 9.00AM on Friday 5th August 2022.
