Help for People in Financial Hardship from Lightning Reach
For those struggling financially or need help with money, there is a platform where they could find out if they qualify for financial support such as grants, local schemes, and discounted tariffs.

The secure Lightning Reach Portal allows people to find and apply for support from multiple providers, quickly and easily.

Launched in late 2021, The Portal is a one-stop online grants portal transforming how people in financial hardship can access support.

Lightning Reach advises this can also allow charities and public sector institutions to get financial support from various sources to the people who need it most, quickly, and securely.

This can include grants and other support available from charities, local councils, social tariffs and more.

To find out more about this secure portal, visit the Lightning Reach website.

Grants and Funding from Percy Bilton Charity
The Percy Bilton Charity awards grants to charities that help and support disadvantaged youth, people with disabilities, people with mental health problems and older people.

Charities and similar organisations can apply for grants towards furnishings and equipment (not including office items), building or refurbishment projects.

The Percy Bilton Charity offers two types of grants:
  • Small Grants aimed at providing urgent one-off assistance for essential items to the charity’s beneficiaries
  • Large Grants of one-off payments for capital expenditure; with preference given to specific items of furniture and equipment (excluding office items) which the Charity can fund in their entirety.
At the time of writing, there was no recognised deadline, suggesting these are Continuous Rolling Programmes and applications could be accepted at any time.

For more information or how to apply, visit The Percy Bilton Charity website.
