MVA 2024 AGM Barry Clout Awards & The Way Forward Event

MVA are pleased to announce the details for their 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), a gathering that promises to be both inspiring and informative. Not only do we have a great line-up for the session we are proud to have been supporting Medway in engaging and empowering communities in the sector for over 35 years this year.

Following MVA’s AGM & Barry Clout Awards. Which celebrate the unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions local volunteers have within our communities. MVA will be hosting a workshop exploring the role which the Voluntary, Community, Social Enterprise & Faith (VCSEF) Sector in Medway has in reducing health inequalities.

Together, we can share insights, discuss challenges, and develop actionable plans that empower our communities and improve access to essential health services.

The sector plays a pivotal role in addressing health inequalities, with only 20% of a person’s health and wellbeing outcomes being achieved through 'clinical' measures and the other 80% attributed to the wide array of services the VCSEF sector provides.

Immediately after the health inequality session we will be hosting a Power of AI workshop. The AI workshop will be delivered by AI expert Tim Cook, founder of social enterprise AI Confident and aims to help organisations understand the potential benefits and risks of AI and learn how to use AI tools responsibly.

Tim will also be making himself available after the Event for those who wish to stay on and explore AI further. These additional workshops with Tim are free and must be pre-booked using the same event link below.

The transformative power of AI in creating entirely new methods for advancing charitable missions

AI Confident believe AI can create a more equitable society, empowering leaders to make confident, informed decisions about AI's potential.

Their mission is to help schools, nonprofits, and SMEs understand the broader implications of the AI revolution and foster a culture that harnesses its potential responsibly while managing associated risks.

Organisations that could benefit the most, often lack the capacity for innovative, responsible AI deployment. This workshop will cover the following
  • What's going on in the world of AI?
  • What's changing already, and what's going to change in the coming months?
  • How do charities set themselves up to respond to these changes with confidence?
