Open Session from KMSAB - Adopting a Trauma Informed Approach to Adult Safeguarding, October 2023

The Kent and Medway Safeguarding of Adults Board will soon be hosting another awareness event for attendees to engage and explore topical issues and current planned activity for the region.

The Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board (KMSAB) is a multi-agency partnership, consisting of statutory and voluntary partner organisations based locally.

Their purpose is to make sure that all member agencies are working together to help keep Kent and Medway's adults safe from harm and protect their rights.

KMSAB also commissions safeguarding training for staff who have a responsibility for direct practice in safeguarding and are currently in the process of organizing a range of new and existing training courses.

KMSAB have arranged a series of FREE on-line awareness events where attendees can engage with the Board to discuss topical issues and current planned activity being delivered across Kent and Medway.

These ‘Open Sessions’ are available to all and would benefit people with lived experience of safeguarding and individuals with care and support needs.

The sessions would also benefit anyone engaging in caring for adults at risk, as well as those working in the health and social care sector.

The next Open Session is about Adopting a Trauma Informed Approach to Adult Safeguarding, as part of the National Safeguarding Adults Awareness Week.

Delivered by Maidstone Borough Council, this session will provide a service update and the ways in which The Council have adopted a trauma informed response to their practice.

This FREE session is scheduled to take place on Thursday 23rd November 2023, from 6pm to 7:30pm via Microsoft Teams.
