The VCSEF Leaders Network was created in 2015 to provide leaders of Medway's VCEF - large and small - with a stronger voice.

The VCSEF Leaders Network provides members with their own platform for collaborative working, effective networking, sharing good practice and peer support.

The VCSEF Leaders Network is led by a Steering Group made up of representative leaders from across the sector, members of the Steering Group, under Generous Leadership they give their time to deliver action points on behalf of the wider network.

The VCSEF Leaders Network host events, which were cancelled during the Covid pandemic and will be coming back in 2024.

The group is facilitated by MVA, as part of the Project Medway initiative, and MVA host this digital platform to support the goals of the whole network.

The VCSEF Leaders Steering Group elects a chair every two years, the current chair was elected in December 2023, that is Eithne Rynne (Kent Association for the Blind).

She has said the following about becoming the chair:

“I’m very proud to be chosen as Chair to represent Medway’s VCS Leaders Network. The Leaders Network has the ability to create strong partnerships between the voluntary and statutory sectors. Our strength lies in the diverse membership voice enabling us to share our experience and expertise to continue to support our communities in Medway. It’s an honour to work closely with other Leaders in Medway.”

Former Chair of the VCSEF Leaders Network, John Norley (Age UK Kent Rivers) has said about the following about the group:

"Together we can harness the full power of our network to achieve something quite remarkable."
